Northern Chapter

Lydia Justice EAC Northern Chapter PresidentDear Colleagues,
First of all I want to thank all of my colleagues who attended the September meeting in Burlingame, CA . You should give yourself a big hand of applause! I am so proud of you because you know your true Value and Worth.

I also attended the Chicago AEA meeting and as I sat there, I listened to the speaker(s) and I wrote down all the things that motivated me, I looked around the room I see the other colleagues doing the same. Then I wonder to myself where are my EAC friends? Why couldn&rsqt they make it? Do we clutter our schedule enough to convince ourselves that we cannot afford it (time/money). But in reality we have LOST the understanding of our value and worth. Don’t let this happen to you.

Let’s go back to the beginning when we started our profession, it was interesting and exciting. We must stay in touch with the enthusiasm we had when we started.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Symposium.

Hope your Holidays’ were filled with joy and love. Take care.

Sincerely,
Lydia

Southern Chapter

EAC southern chpater president, Yvette Becerra

Dear Colleagues,
The 60th anniversary traditional gift is a DIAMOND. Diamond comes from the Greek word Adamas which means unconquerable and enduring. I find that meaning so appropriate and symbolic of our profession. Our profession has had its share of competitors over the years with different methods of hair removal and yet, we remain unconquerable and continue to be the only permanent hair removal method. We have and continue to endure and provide permanent hair removal in spite of other trends and techniques that come our way.

As it happens, our E.A.C. 60th Anniversary Conference is coming up and I would like to acknowledge and thank Northern Chapter President Lydia Justice, Julia Hamilton, 1st Vice President and Patsy Kirby, EAC State Representative for their valuable contribution in coordinating this future conference. We are unconquerable! We will endure!

Please note, the Southern Chapter will not be having a meeting in February. However, I hope a good many of you will be attending the conference in April.

I am also delighted to report the results of the ballots that were mailed in August to the entire E.A.C., membership. Of the 105 ballots mailed, 79 members cast their ballots. There were 64 votes to remain affiliated with A.E.A., 6 votes to disaffiliate and 9 votes abstained. These results were submitted by the Tellers' Committee which consisted of Honora Hetherington, L.E., C.P.E. and Janice Bixler, L.E., C.P.E. I offer a great big thank you to the both of them for volunteering to do this task.

In closing, I bring to mind the recent presidential election which promoted the concept of Change. With this in mind, I encourage all of you to implement the concept of change, in one form or another, in your business. For example, by redecorating with a new plant or using a different after care product or a complete remodel. Whether you choose to do a small or large change, your clients will surely notice and appreciate it. I know you will also feel good and appreciate the change as well. So, make it a win/win for you and your clients.

May you all have a happy and very prosperous new year!

Sincerely yours,
Yvette Becerra, L.E., C.P.E.
E.A.C. President, Southern Chapter
