Frequently Asked Questions
ELECTROLYSIS IS PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL
Electrolysis technology is evolving. No matter what skin type you have, electrolysis can safely and effectively permanently remove your unwanted hair from your face or body.
What is electrolysis?
Electrolysis is the science of permanent hair removal.
Why electrolysis?
Electrolysis, permanent hair removal is used for men, women, and young adults who want to remove unwanted hair. Most common treatment areas are upper lip, chin, brows, underarms, facial areas, bikini lines, arms, backs, legs, abdomen, feet, fingers, and other areas of the body.
Is electrolysis safe?
Electrolysis is the only safe way to permanently remove hair and is physician recommended. Electrolysis has been documented in the medical literature since1896. It has helped thousands of women, men and young adults throughout the years who are completely satisfied in having their unwanted hair removed permanently.
Is electrolysis permanent?
Electrolysis permanency has been recognized by physicians and testified to by scientific articles published in medical journals. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes electrolysis as the only permanent method of hair removal. No other hair removal method can truly say it’s permanent, not even laser.
How does electrolysis work?
A trained licensed electrologist selects a fine sterile needle, as thin as a hair, and gently slides it into the hair follicle located along side the hair. A tiny amount of electrical current is applied, destroying the hair root. This process targets the germinative growing cells of the hair follicle so the hair does not grow back. It is permanently removed.
What should I expect when I see a professional electrologist?
When you select an electrologist and schedule your first complimentary appointment to meet, you will discuss your specific hair problem. This meeting generally includes the following:
Your Medical History
The electrologist will ask questions about any medical conditions you have or have had, as well as medications you’re taking.
A Discussion
Your electrologists will cover the aspects of hair growth stages, ask you what expectations you may have, what to expect during your treatment, how to care for your skin prior and after a treatment. Cover the length of time for treatments and answer all your questions. You will work with your electrologist to develop a schedule for treatments that fit your needs to achieve the results you desire.

How many treatments will it take to get rid of my unwanted hair?
There are many factors that affect the length, time and the number of treatments. Those factors include the hair growth cycle, quantity, density and structure of your hair, previous temporary methods used, hormonal problems, heredity, and medications. A commitment and consistency of appointments are key elements for permanent hair removal.
How much will it cost?
Depending on your hair removal needs your electrologist will set-up a treatment schedule tailored just for you. The schedule will determine the length and frequency of appointments.
Are there any side effects from electrolysis?
You may experience some redness and slight swelling immediately following a treatment, which typically dissipates within a half-hour to an hour. Cold compacts may be applied to reduce this effect.
